3. Summary of Responsibilities: Manages the environmental services department; establishes policies, procedures, objectives and work standards. Maintains quality control and compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. Supervises and organizes the daily activities of the department personnel in maintaining the facility in a clean, orderly, and attractive condition. Trains personnel in use of equipment, policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises functions and activities of the Environmental Services Department to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition and to comply with regulatory compliance including but not limited to The Joint Commission, Department of Health, OSHA, CMS, and all other state and federal regulatory agencies.
• Maintains and implements Environmental Services Department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget. Includes evaluation and justification of equipment and supply needs and purchases.
• Coordinates housekeeping activities with other departments. Keeps administration informed of activities, needs and issues.
• Inspects and evaluates daily the physical condition of the hospital including floors, paint and furnishings. Coordinates with Engineering to proactively identify, report, and follow through on facility maintenance issues.
• Monitors patient experience, patient satisfaction, and HCAHPS cleanliness scores and takes ongoing actions to improve scores. This includes daily department and patient rounding.
• Manages HCA Waste Management Plan.
• Manages linen usage and takes action to improve linen usage.
• Creates and manages floor care maintenance plan.
• Evaluates and coordinates pest control.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with various vendors related to department responsibilities, including window washing/window coverings and linen.
• Attends meetings and participates in committees as directed including Environment of Care, Disaster Committee and Department Leaders.
• Reviews and evaluates all department related contracts.
• Must abide by the HCA Code of Conduct and the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center Standards of Behavior.
• Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Certificates/Licenses/Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Experience in housekeeping management in a hospital environment is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
