ARC Orthopedic Group ARC Orthopedic Group West Hills, CA West Hills, CA Full-time Full-time $18 - $21 an hour $18 - $21 an hour Busy orthopedic medical practice with a high volume is seeking an experienced and reliable medical front office receptionist with at least 1 year experience.

Overview:
Responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical, front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in/out patients, answering phones, collecting patients co-pays & surgery deposits, processing paperwork and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.
Job Duties:
Performs day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to answering phones and making appointments, check-in/check-out, data entry, processing faxes and referral authorizations.
Answers incoming phone calls and enforces clinic policies and procedures, transfers call as needed.
Must be comfortable with high call volume.
Welcomes and greets patients, clients and visitors in a manner that is helpful and friendly.
Assists and/or directs them to the appropriate person(s).
Maintains front office and waiting room in an organized manner.
Takes inventory and informs supervisor if any supplies are needed weekly.
When scheduling appointments, carefully screens patients for:
physician protocols, address, name, date of birth and valid insurance information.
Aware of patient balances and works closely with billing and management to collect any payment due.
Verifies patient insurance(s) prior to their appointment, verifies patient authorizations and or referrals are received and accurate.
Communicates and educates patient on insurance benefits.
Documents verification in electronic medical record.
Obtains insurance authorizations for treatment.
Manages incoming faxes and routes them to the appropriate clinic staff.
Handles/routes the phone calls, and informs clinic staff of urgent calls that need immediate attention.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements 1 year experience in medical front office required Knowledge of medical insurance, deductibles, co-insurances, co-pays, and HMO plans Familiar with medical terminology and HIPPA Able to multi-task and handle duties in a timely manner Proficient with computers and experience with using EMR Excellent communication skills Orthopedic experience is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Job Type:
